Ms. Eland selected Makena Peeters to be her student of the week. Ms. Eland stated, "Makena is a wonderful student. She is kind, funny, and always honest. I enjoy having her in class. She has become a much better reader this year and she is a wonderful writer."
Mrs. Rohrer nominated Peyton Kautz because, "Peyton has not missed a day of school. He quietly takes care of business in English 12 and is up-to-date with his assignments."
Mrs. Howe selected Bailey Loose as her Sources of Strength student of the week because, "Bailey works hard in English and isn't afraid to ask questions. Her motivation and positivity make her an ideal candidate for Student of the Week."
Ms. Larsen selected Marley Taurferner as her Sources of Strength student of the week. Ms. Larsen stated, "Marley is always on top of her work and wanting to improve. Sources of Strength Students of the Week: March 11th-15th
Mr. Schaumburg selected Brayden Freer to be a student of the week. To explain why, Mr. Schaumburg said, "I have been very impressed with Brayden this semester. He has really struggled with math, but continues to give 110%. He is trying new things and thinking about his work. He comes everyday ready to learn. Thanks for all your hard work. Keep it up."
Mr. Reese picked McKayla Klug to be a Sources of Strength Student of the week. Mr. Reese stated, "McKayla puts forth effort individually towards the process of learning math during student centered lessons instead of just sitting back and waiting to be told how to do the math. Once a topic is learned, she additionally puts forth the effort to master a topic both before she leaves the room and also after she has left the room."

This past week, SRO Ebert and Superintendent Troy Kuhn spoke with grades 4-12 on the effects and consequences of threatening, bullying, and harassing comments that are made in school, outside of school, or over social media. There has been an increase nationally and locally of students bullying, harassing, and threatening each other over social media.
The two main points of discussion were
1)The district and law enforcement take every threat and act/mention of violence seriously.
2)If someone has been harassed, bullied, or needs mental/emotional health support, there are trained staff within the district, community, and county that can assist.
These talks have already sparked positive conversations among students and staff. We have had many students already seek adults for help for various reasons.
Our goal is to always keep our schools and community safe. We can all do our part by following the rule of, "If you see something, say something!"

For a Fundraiser for Prom, students/staff dressed like Mr. Howe!
