Shaun Liesch, CSCS, CAA

My name is Mr. Shaun Liesch, and I am excited to be a part of Clintonville School District as the Activities Director and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.  Education-based athletics plays an important role in the development of the total student through co-curricular participation.  Teaching the values of leadership, responsibility and developing the ability to deal with adversity are essential to the development of the total student.

I am a 2008 graduate of Freedom High School where I was a three sport Varsity letter recipient (Football, Basketball, Track).  I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point for my undergraduate studies majoring in Health Promotions, Health and Fitness Leadership with a minor in Strength & Conditioning.  While attending UWSP, I was employed through the YMCA working before and after school care at a local elementary school along with holding a summer camp position and working in their fitness center.

After graduating from UWSP, I had the privilege of working two internships while obtaining my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  My first internship position was at Impact Basketball Academy where I trained and coached high school, collegiate, and professional basketball players.  My second internship was at Marquette University where I was an intern sport performance coach working with all athletes (mainly soccer, basketball, track, and lacrosse).

My professional experience started in the private sector where I was a Sport Performance Coach at SPS Sports Performance.  Here I coached youth athletes up to professional athletes, and was later promoted to the Director of Sports Performance.  My introduction to high school education-based athletics began at The Prairie School in 2015 when I was hired on as their Director of Strength and Conditioning and Associate Athletic Director.  I also taught health and physical education and coached track while at The Prairie School.

I am a Certified Athletic Administrator through the NIAAA, and I have been a licensed WIAA official since 2015.  I recently obtained my USA-Weightlifting Level 1 Certification.

My wife Kristin is an occupational therapist through ThedaCare.  We have 3 wonderful children Logan, Raeah, and Connor.  We enjoy spending time outdoors golfing (poorly), playing sports, camping, and going on nature walks.

I look forward to continuing to build our school and community by developing leaders through co-curricular participation.
