Paiser

We are excited to announce that Janet Paisar, Grade 2, has been selected as Educator of the Year! Janet's passion for education has truly made a difference in the lives of our students. Her hard work and dedication serve as an inspiration to us all.

  • I would like to nominate my second grade colleague and mentor, Janet Paisar, for Educator of the Year 2023-2024. It is my personal belief that she could be awarded this title every year, given the amount of time, dedication, and expertise she delivers to her students and colleagues daily.

I was blessed with the opportunity to team teach with Janet Paisar twice over the past 5 years. I can say without a doubt that I would not be the teacher I am today without her mentorship and guidance. While we have had many laughs along the way, her critical analysis and careful guidance not only spared my fragile ego, but gave me valuable examples on how to manage classroom behavior, deliver difficult topics, have hard conversations, hold kids accountable, and meet their specific educational needs. I learned more from her tutelage in two years as a colleague than in four years at teacher prep!

Janet has the ability to immediately adapt to a child’s learning difficulties/challenges - this skill helps her instantly address their individual needs. Her innate ability to adapt and connect topics to children makes her an incredibly astute teacher. I have personally witnessed exponential growth (particularly in reading) in her students, growth that would have otherwise NOT occurred had the students not been fortunate enough to benefit from her incredible skill set. Her poise, consistency, and grace ensure that the students entrusted to her care receive the best formal and informal education they could hope to receive. Janet doesn’t just prepare students for third grade, she makes them better humans.

As far as dedication, stop by the elementary after 3:30pm or on a weekend. You will find Janet there - scouring her resources for the perfect tool to meet one of her struggling student’s needs. She gives her time, her money, her expertise leading field trips to her family greenhouse, etc. You have an impossible student in behaviors and learning challenges? Give them to Janet - her experience and personal attributes will help mold that child into a better version of themselves.

She deserves our recognition. I am proud to call her my colleague, mentor, and friend.

  • Janet is and always will be a very inspirational teacher! She goes out of her way to provide lessons and activities that promote academic success and excitement for her students. I feel that Janet has provided me a great deal of inspiration as a teacher. I will always be grateful to Janet for being an outstanding teacher for one of my own children as well. Janet Paisar is an amazing educator!

  • Janet has always worked extremely hard to help her children be successful. She has worked for hours to create projects that aid her students in making progress and see themselves as learners. Additionally, she always has her students in mind when preparing her lessons so the students are participating in work that will move them further in their learning. Janet is continually looking for new websites and through current websites to help children continue to use programs that make them shine. Her students love her. It is easy to see why. Janet truly deserves this nomination for her number of years being an excellent educator!!!

  • Mrs. Paiser has gone above and beyond for her students. She demonstrates inclusion with ALL of her students and adapts her lessons to meet their needs. This includes the special education students as well as the general education students. Mrs. Paiser has eagerly learned about communication devices to help a student in her class communicate with his peers. She has also taught her class some sign language to encourage ALL students to communicate, even if they do not/can not verbalize. Mrs. Paiser is an amazing example of what it means to have a "heart of gold". She stays late after school to work 1-on-1 with a student when their ride isn't on time. She encourages her students to try to complete a task themselves first and teaches them how to persevere, even when that task is hard. Mrs. Paiser has taught her class to take pride in what they do. Her students have not only made strong progress this year in the classroom, but growth is being seen outside of the classroom as well. She has taught her students how to manage their emotions and given them strategies to regulate themselves across their school day. I have observed many of her students using these strategies in and out of the classroom. Mrs. Paiser has embraced new lesson plans, technology, and overall new style of teaching with a desire to learn. She has adapted lessons to meet the needs of ALL of her students. She celebrates in her students success and is truly proud of them. I could write pages of information on why Mrs. Paiser deserves this award, but overall, Janet is the example of a teacher that ALL students should have. She truly cares for the students and makes learning fun and engaging.

Congrats from all of us!
