School Board Election Information
Important Dates:
November 28, 2023 - Publication deadline of Notice of Spring Election
December 22, 2023 5:00 p.m. - Deadline for incumbents to file Notification of Non-Candidacy
January 2, 2024, 5:00 p.m. - Deadline for candidates to file Declaration of Candidacy (EL-162sd) and Campaign Registration Statement (CF-1 for Local Candidates)
February 20, 2024 - Spring Primary (if needed)
April 2, 2024 - Spring Election
The legal qualifications for being a school board member include these requirements:
A citizen of the United States
18 years of age or older
A resident of the school district for at least 28 consecutive days at the time of filing for Declaration of Candidacy.
Have no disqualifying prior criminal convictions.
Anyone planning to run for the Board of Education seats must submit the required documents Declaration of Candidacy (EL-162sd) and Campaign Finance Registration Statement (CF-1) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Please note that the Declaration of Candidacy needs to be notarized.
The School District Office will be closed from December 22, 2023 - January 1, 2024 for the Winter Break. Regular office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Fridays 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m
