Rural Virtual Academy (RVA) Opportunity for 2021-2022 School Year
Hello Clintonville School District families,
2020 certainly taught us how to adapt and our teachers, staff, and students in the district have done an amazing job with the different learning models we have utilized throughout this school year. Of course, many students enjoy physically being at school and having face-to-face interaction with their teachers and peers, but some students have found the online learning model to be extremely beneficial. With this, I wanted to share with you some information about the Rural Virtual Academy (RVA), which is an online learning school for grades PK-12 that you may enroll your child in for the 2021-2022 school year, if interested.
If you enroll your child with the RVA, they would still be a part of the Clintonville School District, they would still have access to a school building with our RVA Learning Center (located in the high school), and they would still have the opportunity to participate in sports, extracurricular activities, attend school functions, etc. Essentially, they would still have the same opportunities as if they were attending our elementary, middle, or high school; however, the main difference is their teaching/learning would occur 100% online from RVA instructors as opposed to Clintonville teachers and staff. They would not attend any classes physically/virtually in Clintonville, but would be given a schedule and assigned teachers associated with the RVA.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in RVA for the 2021-2022 school year, the open enrollment window starts on February 1st, 2021, but you may submit your interest as early as today. To enroll your child, get more information about RVA, or to see contact information, you may visit their website at ruralvirtual.org/. There is also a short, informational video on enrollment dates and how to enroll linked here. If you have any questions or want further information on the RVA from someone within the Clintonville School District, you may contact Brett Strahota (High School Associate Principal/District RVA coordinator) at (715) 823-7215 Ext. 2202, or you can email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
