Zach Johnson wins the Fox Communities Credit Union "Save to Save Challenge"!
4 juniors in Personal Finance (Unique Erikson, Emmalee Huebner, Addison Lundt, and Zach Johnson) participated in a "Save to Save Challenge" this semester. The “Save to Save Challenge” is a 15-week program where students will demonstratethe ability to systematically save by depositing $10 per week into a savings account oftheir choice. At the end of the 15 weeks, students show proof of deposits to their teacher by supplying a screenshot of their bank statement. If they completed the challenge their names were put into a pool to draw one lucky winner and Fox matched their contributions. Dani Oudenhoven from our Clintonville branch presented a certificate and check.

Our Pet & Companion students have been hands-on, practicing their grooming skills with some very patient (and adorable!) staff dogs! All work is supervised and done with care!

All students in Mr. Nighbor’s Health 10 classes have gone through the DPI required training in “Hands-Only CPR” and AED use. Students took a short “field trip” around the CHS/CMS campus and located each of the AED’s available to them during the school day. Students then completed both a written and skills assessment at the end of the unit to demonstrate their understanding of the content. Exactly 100 students completed the training between the first and second semester classes this year.

Jeff Crumbaugh - Advanced Chemistry
Photo1: Johny Pingel, Carter Writt and Kelsey Maus performing a potentiometric titration in Advanced Chemistry. They are using burets to add precise amounts of Cerium (IV) to Iron (II). The Cerium oxidizes the iron until complete whereupon the electrical potential of the solution rises dramatically. Students then use the data from this titration to precisely calculate the molar concentration of the iron solution.

She is collecting data via Bluetooth connections between the gas sensors and her Chromebook. The experiment provides insight on cellular respiration in yeast mitochondria.
Photo 3. Giselle and Gwendolyn Rose measuring carbon dioxide gas produced by yeast. Students fed yeasts six different sugars, one at a time, to determine the relative preference of yeast, based on their metabolism and production of carbon dioxide.

Terrence's message to parents was "SHAME." Love yourself and others. Be that person for your children, always give them love. Don't ever turn your back on others because of hardships or shame. Build up yourself and others around you!
