CHS Rec Center Fitness Classes
The CHS Rec Center offers classes for every fitness level!
Active Aging- Free to Rec Users Over the Age of 60. This class is geared towards older adults wo are looking to begin a resistance training program. Each class includes a warm up activity and exercises to increase balance, stability, strong bones and muscular strength that will help you accomplish everyday activities. Functional weight training principles that are taught here incorporate everyday movements to help you stay fit at any age!
Aqua Step- Join us in the pool for a water aerobics class to get your heart pumping and your body moving! Using underwater steps and water dumbbells provide extra cardiovascular and muscle strengthening benefits. This easy to follow class provides a friendly and supportive atmosphere in the shallow end of the lap pool.
Bootcamp- Increase your muscular strength and endurance by attending this fast paced workout that utilizes free weights, body weights, and other pieces of equipment to give you a full body workout. This class will be outside, unless the weather is bad, in which case it will be held at Dellwood.
Exercise Accountability Group- Free to Rec Center Users. This group works to support one another in accountability as each person pursues their fitness goals. This is a circuit style work out.
G.Y.M Get Yourself Moving!- Get yourself moving, Melissa style! This early morning, high energy class is designed to jumpstart your day, giving you energy, boosting your metabolism, and raising your endorphins, resulting in increased mental clarity and productivity throughout your day. In this beginner to advanced class we will be using body weight and equipment. You will love the variety and challenge this strength training class offers.
Flexed- This class combines heavy weights with low reps, the perfect power pair for building more lean muscle mass to burn body fat and sculpt your summer bod. Suited for all fitness levels.
Yoga- This flow class is designed for beginners to experienced yoga practitioners looking for a balanced workout routine. Students will focus on linking conscious breath with a vigorous and mindful flow, and build strength, flexibility, and concentration while cleansing the body and calming the mind.
Zumba- Join us for this fun energetic dance workout! This class increases your cardio fitness and burns calories as you dance along.
