Counseling Students:
Throughout the year, I conduct individual and small group counseling to some students. Counseling is a positive and healthy way for students to gain insight into a troublesome area. Some of the more popular group and individual counseling topics are:
Grief (loss of a loved one or pet)
Help with learning social skills
Friendship issues
Self-esteem
New students
Students moving to a new school
Anger management
Family changes (separation/divorce/new siblings)
Other groups are also formed based on student needs. Parents, teachers, and other school staff refer students who they feel could benefit from counseling as well.
Please note: If you do not want your child involved in either individual or group counseling, please inform Mrs. Bachman by calling (715) 823-7215 Ext#3280.
Certain circumstances may call for more intense counseling from mental health or child psychologist and this is not uncommon. Frequency and duration of counseling is based on individual situational needs. Information shared by students with counselor will not be revealed with parents, that information is viewed as confidential. However, I do encourage students to be open with their parents.
